75% of 3,823 eligible graduate students voted, with 1,785 students (66%) voting in favor of unionization and 912 students (34%) voting against.

MIT reinstates SAT/ACT requirement for 2027 admissions cycle and beyond
The admissions office’s research reportedly found that standardized testing “significantly” improved the office’s ability to predict academic success at MIT, even when controlling for socioeconomic factors that correlate with testing.

No new prescriptions have been accepted since March 25, and refills will be processed until April 8.

Two EECS degree proposals and support for students impacted by Ukraine crisis discussed at March faculty meeting
The proposed MEng program for 6-14 would operate similarly to MEng programs for the 6-1, 6-2, 6-3, 6-7, and 6-9 majors, where students complete a fifth year of study with additional coursework and a thesis and have the opportunity to receive financial support through a research or teaching assistantship.
Remembering electrical engineering professor emeritus Markus Zahn
Zahn earned his undergraduate and doctorate degrees at MIT before becoming a professor at the University of Florida. He joined the faculty at MIT in 1980 and retired in 2015.
MIT offers admission to 1,337 applicants for Class of 2026
The acceptance rate from this year is a slight decrease from last year (4.03%), with both marking a sharp decrease from pre-pandemic acceptance rates (approximately 7%).
