Amherst Alley closing
Due to ongoing New House construction, the west end of Amherst Alley is scheduled to close temporarily from Sept. 18 to Sept. 22. Although pedestrians can still use the street, vehicles including MIT shuttles will have to make a detour to Memorial Drive. The shuttle pick-up locations will be redirected to the corner of Amherst Alley and Fowler Street.

Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala. This 18-year-old girl is known as an activist who speaks up for female education and equality. After learning the importance of education through her parents, who ran several schools in Pakistan, she blogged for the BBC and stressed educational equality to the public. She survived a shooting by the Taliban at the age of 15.
