TEDxMIT holds Fall conference on Natural and Artificial Intelligence
On Sunday, Dec. 4, TEDxMIT held its biannual event titled “Natural and Artificial Intelligence” in collaboration with the Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence Laboratory; the event was held in MIT’s Stata Center. After an a capella performance by the Chorallaries, 14 speakers presented on topics across the field of Intelligence -- neuroscientists explored human psychology, guided by the question ‘what defines a “mind”?, and artificial intelligence researchers discussed the “minds” of machines.
President Reif reflects on his decade of presidency and 40 years at MIT
Reif: “An area that I would also like to think survived the test of time is what I’ve tried to convey not in an announced way, but by constantly speaking about it — in public, at Convocation, at Commencement — is a caring community.”
MIT China Strategy Group releases university engagement with China report
According to Lester and Tsai — the co-chairs of the group — the purpose of the report is to “chart a path for MIT to conduct academic interactions and collaborations with individuals and organizations in China in ways that uphold the core values of the Institute.”
2022 security and fire safety report released
The total number of criminal offenses reported on campus, in non campus locations and in public decreased from 52 in 2019 to 18 in 2020 and increased to 29 in 2021.
