Karate as art and a trip to Japan
Vazrik Chiloyan graduated from MIT in 2011 with a double major in Mechanical Engineering and Physics, and a minor in Math. Currently an MIT Energy Initiative fellow, he also has a black belt in karate and instructs the Shotokan karate club. The Tech talked to Chiloyan about the discipline of karate and the club’s trips to Japan.

MIT wins spring 2017 International Karate Shotokan Cup
The MIT Shotokan Karate club hosted its first Shotokan cup with the Harvard Shotokan Karate club this past weekend on Saturday Apr. 22, 2017. Participants came from MIT, Harvard, BU, Tufts, UMass Dartmouth, Cornell, UConn, and the University of Toronto. With consistently strong performance across many of the divisions, the MIT Shotokan Karate club was able to secure a win.
