MIT’s financial records contradict its claims of austerity
Over the course of May 2026 — the final weeks of the Graduate Student Union (GSU)’s first contract — MIT repeatedly claimed an inability to give graduate workers rights, benefits, and protections due to financial stress. So I decided to take a look into the nature of MIT’s finances.
