Forum discusses USPS future
USPS Inspector General David C. Williams came to MIT last Thursday to discuss the future of the United States Postal Service as part of MIT’s Communication Forum. The talk touched upon important issues that the Postal Service must face in order to survive the current economic climate.
Pi Beta Phi earns residence
Last Tuesday, MIT sorority Pi Beta Phi (Pi Phi) received a bid from the MIT Housing Office to lease 405 Memorial Drive, the house previously occupied by the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. After occupancy terms are discussed between MIT and Pi Phi and a formal agreement is signed, the sorority will be able to move into the new house starting in Fall 2012.
Students recombine pop hits in Spring Weekend mashup contest
The UA Events Committee announced the winners of the first MIT Spring Weekend mashup contest yesterday. The three top vote-getters Allin Resposo ’11 (aka Allin Gaga), Garrett L. Winther ’11, and Michael R. Harradon ’13 will have their mashups reviewed by Spring Weekend Concert headliner Super Mash Bros., who will decide which mashup will be played at the concert on Friday April 23.
Modi and Wyman win UA election
Vrajesh Y. Modi ’11 has been elected as UA President and Samantha G. Wyman ‘11 as UA Vice President. The pair received over 80 percent of the votes. The UA Elections results were released at 2 p.m. on Saturday March 20. A total of 1,686, or about 40 percent of students, participated in the election.
