MIT alums to row for Team USA
Two MIT alumni, Skip Dise ’03 and Stephen F. Young ’09, will be headed to the 2010 World Rowing Championships in New Zealand later this month as members of the United States National Team. Young will cox the men’s lightweight eight, and Dise will row in the bow seat of that boat. Dise and Young were both selected to the lightweight eight as a result of their performance in the selection camp in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Heavyweight Crew Competes in Henley Royal Regatta
MIT’s heavyweight eight traveled to Henley-on-Thames, England to compete in the Henley Royal Regatta on July 1–5. Tech defeated Molesey Boat Club to advance to the second round of the single elimination tournament, but the Engineers were knocked out by Brown University the next day, ending Tech’s season.
Crew Teams Compete At Annual Princeton Chase in New Jersey
The MIT Crew teams traveled to Carnegie Lake in Princeton, N.J. this weekend to compete in the 28th annual Princeton Chase. This competition is a 2.75-mile head race attracting elite crews from all over the northeast.
