Students share opinions on new College of Computing
At the student forum on the College of Computing held Oct. 25, several audience members raised questions regarding how the college will approach diversity, and MIT’s mission and relationship with donors.
A collaborative quest
BeeMee was developed by Niccolo Pescetelli, a human psychologist working to understand the dynamics of human collective intelligence, and Dr. Iyad Rahwan, a scientist who leads the Scalable Cooperation group at the MIT Media Lab. This immersive social event invites Internet users to work together to stop AI Zookd from succeeding in his mission.
Kate Trimble appointed Office of Experiential Learning director
One challenge Trimble expects to face is how decentralized experiential learning is at MIT, as it is spread over multiple programs, departments, and clubs; she hopes that the OEL will help students navigate these different offerings.
Creative collaboration
In Pinar Yanardag’s “How to Generate (Almost) Anything” series, humans and AI collaborate on everything from designing dresses to cooking up recipes for pizza.
New meal plans in effect
Dining dollars that are part of the new meal plans can be used at on-campus retail dining locations at a five percent discount, certain off-campus locations, and at LaVerde’s for food items only.
