1,467 students admitted to Class of 2019
MIT offered admission to 1,467 students out of the 18,306 who applied to be members of the class of 2019, making this year’s admission rate 8.0 percent. This is an increase from last year’s 7.7 percent and marks the first time the rate has gone up since 2003’s admissions cycle, when 16.4 percent of applicants were admitted.

8,000 take climate initiative survey
The MIT Climate Change Conversation Committee is seeking community engagement in the Conversation on Climate Change, an Institute initiative to discuss what committee chair Roman Stocker said has the potential to be the “biggest problem [MIT] has ever contributed to solving.”
