No. 1 MIT Basketball takes on Harvard tonight
The MIT Men’s Basketball team, the no. 1 ranked team in the nation in DIII, will take on Harvard tonight at 7 p.m. at Harvard’s Lavieties Pavilion. The Engineers, coming off a historic Final Four season, will look to prepare for the 2012-2013 campaign with this highly anticipated preseason tune up. Only a few tickets remain for the nearly sold out 2,000+ seat Pavilion.
The Scouting Report: Harvard is coming off their most successful season in history, winning 26 games, including wins over Florida State and Boston College, and earning a no. 22 national ranking in Division I. The Ivy League Champions earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament last year, eventually falling to Vanderbilt in the Second Round.
Keys to the game:
1. Unleash the big beavers - the Men’s squad lists 11 players over 6’6”, including 6’10” Lampros Tsontzos ’16 from Greece.
2. Engineer a dominant defense — MIT’s defense was ranked as one of the best in nation last year
3. Outsmart them! - We all know who the smarter school is…
