Labor Day to bring lovely weekend weather
After a hot and windy day today, a more settled weather pattern will take hold, bringing pleasant weather for the holiday weekend.
Today, a relatively strong low pressure system to our north will create windy conditions in the Boston area. The breezy winds will bring a mass of warm air in from our west, sending temperatures skyrocketing into the 90s °F. However, a cold front will pass through in the late evening, bringing with it the chance for a few showers or thunderstorms. This frontal passage will also usher in a cooler, calmer pattern for the rest of the weekend.
On Saturday, a high pressure system will begin to move in from the west. Under the high pressure, the Boston area will experience sunny skies, with high temperatures in the 70s °F. Winds will be relatively calm in the morning, with an easterly afternoon sea breeze keeping things relatively cool. In all, the unofficial last weekend of summer should be excellent for outdoor activities.
