Hungry on the weekend? Clover will soon be open!
CORRECTION TO THIS ARTICLE: This news brief incorrectly reports Clover food truck’s pre-Sept. 24 hours as 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. Clover was open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays prior to the 24th, and those hours were extended to 8 p.m., in addition to new weekend hours.
Hungry on the weekend? Clover will soon be open!
The delicious smell of chickpea fritters wafted over the west side of campus this past weekend. Saturday and Sunday, the Clover food truck that is normally parked on Carlton Street behind the MIT Medical building was docked in front of the Z-Center for the t=0 entrepreneurship conference (only for the weekend, sorry!).
But there is good news. Clover general manager Vincenzo Pileggi said the truck will be starting 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday hours at their regular Carlton location, beginning on the 24th. Those come in addition to their current Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. schedule.
Asked about the possibility of a future Clover food truck location on west campus, Clover CEO Ayr Muir ’00 said, “We would love to consider an additional location on west campus but would need the support of MIT for that. In particular, it could be great at late hours when campus dining options are minimal.”
As a fledgling business, the Clover food truck served breakfast and lunch Mondays through Fridays and served brunch on Sundays. However, due to lack of resources at the time, Clover management decided that it was necessary to cut out the Sunday hours. Today, Clover has expanded to five food truck locations in the Cambridge-Boston area, as well as a restaurant in Harvard Square.
