Getting colder, but no snow for this week

The eastern half of the U.S. is lucky to escape the weather on its neighboring side. From the Rockies to the Pacific Ocean, snow is piling up in many areas. Not only are many areas getting snowed in, but winds are howling as a vigorous storm system pushes through the Northwest.

Closer to us, in the northern Midwest, another storm is deepening and should drop frozen precipitation through tomorrow. Unfortunately, the current storm in the West will “greet” the Midwest with unsettled weather by Thanksgiving.

Despite the messy weather in those regions, Boston will escape the frozen stuff this week. A cold front will cross the area tonight, sweeping out today’s warmer air mass. Sunny skies and gusty winds will arrive on Wednesday, with fair holiday conditions shaping up for the region. Jackets will be needed after today!
