Springing forward

Early Sunday morning marks the beginning of Daylight Saving Time (not Daylight “Savings” Time), when we move our clocks one hour forward. Eastern Standard Time (EST), five hours behind Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), gives way to Eastern Daylight Time (EDT), four hours behind GMT. The good news is that the sun will set an hour later, but at the price of one hour less of sleep on Saturday night.

A slow moving storm will move out of the Midwest and affect our region this weekend. Overcast skies will persist Friday and Saturday with rain Saturday night and Sunday.

Temperatures will reach the upper 40s (°F) during the day and stay in the upper 30s (°F) at night. Expect blustery conditions Saturday and Sunday associated with a tight pressure gradient as the low pressure system passes to our south.
