Civil and Environmental Engineering seniors (left to right) Abhradeep Sarkar ’12, Michael A. Chen ’12, Julia A. Hopkins ’12, Yusung “John” Lim ’12, and Nicholas “Nicky” Soane ’12 hung weights off a hanging chain to find the ideal arch geometry for their bridge. Bridge testing for 1.013 (Civil Engineering Design Project) took place in Lobby 7 at noon this Wednesday. Each bridge was required to hold 2,500 pounds without failure. Each group was also required to demonstrate that their bridge could safely hold the weight of all team members combined.
