The InfoPad was an idea conceptualized in the early 90s. Chandrakasan and another graduate student worked on the technology needed for the InfoPad to perform certain processes without draining too much battery. They found their solution in parallelism, and as a result, wrote a paper that has been the second-most cited paper in IEEE’s Journal of Solid State Circuits.
