Unsettled period through the weekend
Similar to what happened last week a cutoff low pressure system hangs over the East Coast for the next few days bringing occasional rain and cloudy weather. On Saturday, a low from the Great Lakes pushes through giving rise for some potential thunderstorms Saturday afternoon. The system then tucks in over the Gulf of Maine bringing with it some heavier rain Sunday. There is a chance it stalls to our East meaning the rain would linger into next week. Once this storm system finally exits there will be a brief dry period before another system brings more wet weather. It is shaping up to be a very wet May this year, with it already having rained nine days and 3” so far. I guess “May showers bring June flowers”.
