Silver for Eldracher ’22 ‘25 at the Paralympic Games in Paris

Emelie Eldracher ’22 ’25 captured a silver medal at the 2024 Paralympic Games in the Mixed PR3 Coxed Four rowing for Team USA. Eldracher was the coxswain in a boat comprised of athletes from Williams, Tufts, the University of Virginia, and Temple.

Great Britain, the current world record holders in the event, captured the gold and France took the bronze. Team USA started strong: at the 500 meter mark of the 2000 meter-long race, the crew was one-third of a length behind the leading British boat. Although Britain’s lead increased as the race progressed, the American crew were unchallenged for second place to the finish.

For years, Eldracher has had a national and international presence at the Senior and Junior levels. She won silver in the same event at the 2023 World Championships and has competed at prior World Championships and various iterations of the Canadian Henley.

Eldracher also has a decorated resume as a coxswain dating back to 2018 for the Women’s Openweight and Men’s Heavyweight crew teams at the Institute. She has competed at the highest levels of collegiate rowing including a victory at the Head of the Fish and a third place finish in the fourth level finals of the Intercollegiate Rowing Association National Championship. Although Eldracher has exhausted her eligibility to compete at the collegiate level, she is working towards a MEng in computation and cognition.
