Geathers and Chen re-elected as UA president and vice president in 2021 election
Undergraduate Association (UA) Election Commissioner Sarah Pertsemlidis ’23 announced the results of the UA presidential election and the Class Council elections in a May 1 email to undergraduates.
The UA presidential election and elections for all positions (president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, social chair, and publicity chair) in the four Class Councils were uncontested.
Incumbent UA President Danielle Geathers ’22 and UA Vice President Yu Jing Chen ’22 were re-elected. Their ticket was ranked first by 581 voters, with the alternative being write-in candidates.
627 undergraduates participated in the election, for a turnout of approximately 14.4%, compared to 38.5% from last year’s contested election, 14.4% in the 2019 election (which was uncontested), 18.3% in the 2018 election (which was also uncontested), and 43.8% in the 2017 election (which was contested).
Of the voters in the election, 9.7% were seniors, 34.8% were juniors, 29.2% were sophomores, and 26.3% were first years.
