‘The Tech’ stands with Black communities
As a student newspaper, The Tech’s words reach countless MIT students, parents, faculty, staff, and administrators everyday. With our audience comes the duty to stand with and to support Black Americans, including those in our own MIT community. Centuries of brutality and prejudice have forced Black communities to face unjust violence and death under the presumption of guilt rather than innocence. Names — Eric Garner, Sandra Bland, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, Tony McDade — and voices can no longer go unheard. We stand in solidarity with the courageous protestors, organizers, and heroes who fight each day for justice.
