This Valentine’s Day, fall in love with the weather
Boston doubled its snowfall total for the season this past Tuesday, as a brief snowstorm brought the city's snowfall total to 4.7 in (12 cm), the third lowest seasonal total to date on record. Today, however, we can fall in love with fantastic Valentine’s Day weather featuring cool temperatures and sunny skies, perfect for date plans or other activities! For Friday, the region faces another brush with some light precipitation, and through the weekend we’ll enjoy continued seasonable, variable temperatures. Still, nothing major or of the magnitude we saw at the beginning of the week is expected soon. Further abroad, the west coast continues to wade through a barrage of precipitation as deep moisture streams inland from the Pacific. This round of heavy rain and high elevation snow is on top of extended heavy precipitation which has brought crippling snowfall to places like Seattle and raised California reservoirs to near or above full pool.
