Remembering Sam Bauman ’17
Sam Bauman ’17 died Nov. 21 at age 23. He was a double major in physics and math and a resident of East Campus. He was a “loving” and “brilliant” young person who had many circles of friends and participated in a wide variety of activities on campus, including fire spinning, the chamber music society, and the gymnastics club. Dr. Aaron Krasner, speaking at Bauman’s funeral, urged everyone to “encourage, support, and love … yourselves and each other, however flawed.”
There will be a memorial service and remembrance this Sunday, Dec. 3, 11 a.m.–12 p.m. in the MIT chapel, followed by a reception in W11.
