Anantha Chandrakasan, EECS professor, appointed Dean of Engineering School
Anantha Chandrakasan, professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, was announced as the new Dean of the School of Engineering in an email sent out to MIT June 23.
Chandrakasan will assume the role July 1.
Notable programs that Chandrakasan contributed to include SuperUROP, a year-long and publishing-focused UROP opportunity for upperclassmen, and StartMIT, a entrepreneurship IAP course.
Ian Waitz was the previous Dean of the School of Engineering. Waitz was appointed as Vice Chancellor in February, and will step into the role July 1.
