Rain to preface enjoyable weekend
A hot, humid, and potentially rainy Friday will precede a spectacularly sunny weekend. A significant southwesterly breeze will impose warm, moist air on southern New England today, causing temperatures to peak near 90°F (32°C). Dew points hovering near 70°F will characterize an unpleasantly humid afternoon. An approaching cold front will bring scattered showers to the area, so the possibility of rain will persist throughout the day. Any rain that does find the Institute could be heavy at times.
The cold front will pass through the Boston area overnight, and the ensuing air mass will make for fantastic weekend weather. Sunshine, mild temperatures, and light winds will abound on both Saturday and Sunday before the possibility of rain returns on Monday with the approach of another front.
