Wacker named offensive player of the week
Following a pair of outstanding performances, Laura M. Wacker ’13 of the MIT women’s lacrosse team was named Offensive Player of the Week by the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference on Monday. In a 2-0 week for the Engineers, she compiled 11 goals, five groundballs, a caused turnover, and was 6-of-8 in free-position shots.
Last Thursday in a 15-8 win over Lasell College, Wacker tallied five goals, was 3-of-5 in free-position attempts, and tacked on four groundballs and a caused turnover. In addition, she registered the 100th goal of her career, becoming the ninth player in program history to accomplish this feat. Two days later, Wacker produced a game-high six goals and converted all three of her free-position shots in a 20-4 decision against the University of Maine at Farmington.
