Bizarre Assault Targets MIT Employee

Wednesday morning, a female MIT employee was confronted by a white male wearing sunglasses on the river side of Memorial Drive, opposite E52, according to a crime alert bulletin released yesterday by the MIT Police.

The perpetrator asked if the employee was a “nurse or a doctor,” and threatened to stab her with an 8" knife if she were a doctor, the bulletin said.

The perpetrator was described as medium build, 5 7 –5 9 in height, in his forties, wearing a red t-shirt, black baseball cap, jeans, and dirty white sneakers.

Cambridge and MIT police both responded, but did not locate the perpetrator.
